(Cricket News) According to Arun Dhumal, chairman, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will kick off on March 22 (Tuesday, Feb. 20). Dhumal gave the news agency PTI a statement confirming the dates.
However, the annual T20 competition schedule has not yet been made public. The league would take place exclusively in India, the chairman indicated, possibly coinciding with the nation’s general elections.
“We plan to begin the tournament on March 22. We will initially make public the preliminary schedule, and we are collaborating closely with the government agencies. India will host the competition for its entirety,” Dhumal declared.
The Indian players’ final competition before the June T20 World Cup is the Indian Premier League (2024). The board will choose the team for the ICC competition based on the players’ form, with Rohit Sharma expected to head the team.
