India's Victory: Defeating South Africa by 7 Wickets in the Shortest Test Match Ever.

(Cricket News) This is the shortest Test match in cricket history, with only 642 balls delivered; the India vs. South Africa 2nd Test match breaks the 1932 record of 656 balls when Australia defeated South Africa. India defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in a pacer-dominated match at the Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town.

Riding on the backs of Mohammed Siraj’s furious pace, Indian pacers destroyed South Africa’s dangerous batting order and the Test match was over in just 5 sessions.

There were 23 wickets lost on the first day of a five-day Test match, which is only the second time in Test cricket history; the other was in a 1902 match between Australia and England at Melbourne ground when both sides lost 25 wickets in total. On Day 1, South Africa and India finished their first innings, and the Proteas even lost 3 wickets in their second innings.

India’s unexpected collapse in the first innings, losing six wickets in 11 balls and 0 runs, was not the first time that it had happened; in fact, the same disasters had happened seven times previously.

Team captain Rohit Sharma expressed happiness as his team overcame the Centurion defeat, saying, “Obviously it is a great feat, but having said that we had to learn from whatever mistakes we made (in the first test).”

“It is always tough coming to this part of the world, but we are proud of our performance outside of India,” Rohit Sharma continued. “The bowlers still have to put the ball in the right places, and the boys got rewarded for it.”
