Indian players continue to shine in the Women’s Big Bash League

(Cricket news) The Women's Big Bash League in Australia is going on in full flow and the 9 Indian players have all played for their respective franchises. 

In a match between Richa Ghosh' Hobart Hurricanes and Radha Yadav and Shefali Verma's Sydney Sixers, the two Indian batters were the highest run scorers. Richa Ghosh scored a run a ball 46 to almost single take the Hurricanes' total to 125. Ghosh hit 1 boundary and 3 huge sixes in her innings where she was the only.

Richa Ghosh was dismissed by fellow Indian Radha Yadav who took two wickets in addition to a blinder one handed catch. Yadav also maintained an economy of 7.75 in her four overs. Shefali Verma anchored the chase for the Sixers by scoring a 50 ball 57. Verma hit 6 boundaries in her eventful innings. There wasn't a single six hit by Verma which is very unlike her but she did play a couple of innovative shots which is an indication that she is using this platform to broaden her skillset. She also took a comfortable catch in the first innings. 

Poonam Yadav was the playing XI for Brisbane Heat's match against Perth Scorchers. The leggie went for a few runs at the beginning of her spell but later came back well with 2 wickets including the important one of Beth Mooney. Yadav also came into bat and was at the non striker's end when Brisbane required 3 runs of the last ball with one wicket in hand. Poonam Yadav successfully completed the 2nd run to send the match into a super over which Perth Scorchers ended up winning.
