(Cricket news) India Women’s pre match for the T20I World Cup is into the final stages as they are playing a tri series in the host country South Africa. The first match against the Proteas was a very comfortable win and now they will be looking to continue doing the same. They will now take on the West Indies who lost by 44 runs against South Africa. It will be interesting to see India’s approach for the series because the team has previously chosen experiments over win in these types of series.
India Women’s possible playing XI:
Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Devika Vaidya, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Pooja Vastrakar, Radha Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Renuka Thakur Singh
Bench: Harleen Deol, Sushma Verma, Sneh Rana, Sabbhineni Meghana, Anjali Sarvani, Shikha Pandey, Meghna Singh
Judging by the team selection in the first match it is likely that India women will be rotating their players a lot in this series. Harmanpreet Kaur missed the last game due to illness but she should be back for this one. Pace duo Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Singh Thakur are key for India women and they are likely to come back. Amanjot Kaur who made her debut in the last game was impressive and even though she isn’t in the World Cup squad, Amanjot will mostly keep her place in the side.
West Indies possible playing XI:
Hayley Matthews, Shemaine Campbelle, Shamilia Connell, Britney Cooper, Afy Fletcher, Stafanie Taylor, Rashada Williams, Chedean Nation, Kaysia Schultz, Shakera Selman, Karishma Ramharack
Bench: Aaliyah Alleyne, Shabika Gajnabi, Chinelle Henry, Cherry Ann Fraser, Sheneta Grimmond
West Indies didn’t turn up with the bat against South Africa and that is something they will be looking to improve. Stafanie Taylor is likely to come in to bring some experience into the middle order. Skipper Hayley Matthews will have a lot of responsibility when it comes to anchoring the innings with the bat and bowling with the new ball. Shamilia Connell bowled really well in the match against the Proteas and more of the same will be expected from her.
