The South Korean team of So Chaewon and Joo Jaehoon were defeated by the Indian team 159-158, matching the Asian Games record they established on Monday during the qualification round.
This is India’s second-ever win in archery and its first-ever gold medal from an Asian Games competition.
India has now won the same number of gold medals (16) in a single edition, matching its previous record. In the compound individual finals on Thursday, Jyothi and Ojas will both compete.
In contrast, the men’s compound event will feature an all-Indian gold medal match as Ojas will compete against his countryman Abhishek Verma. Jyothi will face So in the women’s individual competition.
