India won the men’s 10m air rifle team event and the first gold medal of the Asian Games 2023 with a world record score
(Sports news) India won its first gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou with the men’s 10m air rifle team, which included Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar, and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar.
The trio shot a total of 1893.7 in the individual qualification round, which is 0.4 points higher than the previous world record score recorded by China in the Baku World Championship last month.
Following the event, China also lost its position in the lists for the Asian Record and the Games Record.
With a score of 632.5, Rudrankksh, who came in third in qualifying, was the team’s top performer. With 631.6 points, Aishwary came in fifth place. Divyansh’s final score of 629.6 was sufficient to qualify him for the final, but since only two shooters from a NOC can compete, he will not receive an individual medal.
Sheng Lihao of China, who won the silver medal at Tokyo 2020, set an Asian and Games record in the qualification round with a score of 634.5.
The final will start at 9 AM IST.
