India misses out on a bronze medal at Asian Games

India quickly took the lead in the second bronze medal match by earning greater scores in the first four series

(Sports news) The Indian mixed 10m air rifle team, made up of Divyansh Singh Panwar and Ramita, almost missed the opportunity to reach the podium as they crashed out of the bronze medal match with a score of 18-20.

India quickly took the lead in the competition by scoring better in the first four series. Korea opened its account as the score stood at 8-0 after Park Hajun’s 10.9 score.

The teams drew the ensuing series, and starting at the point where India led 9-3, Korea appeared to have found a new lease on life as it pulled even.

India increased its advantage until it was only one point away from winning at 15-11 (India: 21.2, Korea: 20.7). But the match was far from done.

Korea won the following two series before tying the game at 16 all with shots that each counted for 21.0.

After the games entered the deciders, it ultimately took three further series and a coaches’ timeout to reach a decision.
