India whitewashed Bangladesh 3-0 in the India vs Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Tournament

(Cricket news) Nemichand Jangid’s Manas Indo-Bangla Friendship Cup 2023, organized by Manas Sewa Charitable Trust and Divyang Wheelchair Cricket Association under the aegis of Divyang Cricket Control Board of India, which was held on March 9, 10, 11 at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat, team Indian concluded with a resounding victory for the wheelchair cricket team. India’s wheelchair cricket team brought laurels to India by defeating the guest team Bangladesh with 3-0.

Bangladesh in the first match scored 146 runs in the first match, which India won with the help of ManojSansarkar’s explosive 80* in the 17th over. In the second match, Bangladesh put up a tough fight with Ujjal Bairagi’s strong all-rounder performance, but India won the match by 5 runs to clinch the series.

The final match of the stunning wheelchair cricket teams played under floodlights for the first time and Bangladesh scored 169 with Mohibul Islam scoring a blistering 80. Indian team won the match by losing 1 wicket in just 18 overs with the help of Manoj Sansarkar’s brilliant 77*. It is noteworthy that Manoj was batting with an injury in both hands.

At the end of the match, Manoj Sansarkar was awarded Man of the Series, Man of the final Match and Best Batsman, while another Surat player Parshuram Deshle was awarded the Best Bowler. India’s Mohammad Adil received the best fielder award for his excellent fielding, while Bangladesh’s Mohibul Islam was awarded as a game changer and Ujjwal Bairagi was awarded with special award as an active wheelchair.

Former Indian cricketer and 2011 World Cup winning team bowler Munaf Patel was present and congratulated the players for more than an hour and said that the way women’s cricket has developed in India very soon by giving a platform to these Divyang players this cricket will be developed in the same way.

Ratanji and Sumitji Dharuka of Siddhivinayak Developers, led by Nemichand Jangir of Manas Seva Charitable Trust, took care of the food and drink for both the teams for the duration of the tournament, while Manojbhai Agarwal and Guddubhai Paliwal of GM Realty donated 12 wheelchairs amounting to Rs 45,000 each to the players which is a commendable act.

Donors from Surat donated huge amount of money throughout the tournament and hence for the first time the players went home with a handsome cash prize. While enjoying the match, Dhavalbhai Patel gave 90,000 to the participating players of both the teams, while Amishaben and her friends from Ami Charitable Trust gave 17,000 to both the teams and Manoj Sanskar 5100 for hitting the only six of the tournament.

Tournament directors Masood Voraji and Hetalben Nayak, serviceable power couple Hemant Patel (Munnabhai) and Pallavi Patel, Shravan Jangid, technical affairs supervisor Vijay Chhaira, Mumbai anchor Nishal Kora, Surat anchor Sachin Umrigar, rising stars Gaurav Lakwani, Mahendrabhai of Sunny Sports, Harshil, a highly successful tournament was organized with the presence of Amish Patel from Filmcity, Amit Bhai, Vaishali Umrigar, Sanjaybhai Patel, Amisha Jogi, Kavita Parmar, Omi Lakwani and Josh App’s Gujarati Kartaharta Chirag Shah from Embelish Salon, Haroon Rasheed and Ghazal Khan from DCCBI played an important role in the tournament.
