(Cricket news)Bangladesh were 42/0 at the start of the day chasing a target of 513. The openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan put together 124 runs before Shanto was dismissed. Bangladesh looked well in control but Umesh Yadav broke the partnership as Shanto edged one to first slip. Virat Kohli fumbled the catch but Rishabh Pant took it eventually to dismiss Shanto on 67.

Three overs later, Axar Patel got rid of Yasir Ali with a ripper. Liton Das came in at number 4 and was looking uncomfortable right from the get go as Indian bowlers were right on top of him. Kuldeep Yadav trapped him in front but Das was saved by umpires call. It didn’t matter much as Kuldeep did eventually dismiss Liton Das for 19.

Debutant Zakir Hasan scored an incredible 100 off 224 balls hitting 13 boundaries and a maximum. He played really well on debut before getting out to Ravichandran Ashwin. Two of Bangladesh’s most experienced players Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan were out in the middle and they steadied things for a while. Shakib took the bowling on with a few aggressive strokes to put India on the back foot.

Just when they were getting a partnership going, Axar Patel bowled another Jaffa to clean up Mushfiqur Rahim for 23. Axar continued his incredible spell by getting rid of Narul Hasan in the same over. Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan negotiated the remainder of the day as the day ended with Bangladesh on 272/6. India need 4 wickets to win while Bangladesh need 241 runs.
