India Vs Australia

(Cricket news) After a disappointing performance in the 3rd Test, India look to seal the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Aussies fought back hard in Indore and a win for them will tie the series at 2-2. India need a win to confirm their place in the WTC final, otherwise they will have to depend on the result of New Zealand Vs Sri Lanka. There has been a lot of talks about the pitches in this series. According to reports the Ahemdabad track will be much better for batting and could have more assistance for the seamers.

India’s possible playing XI:

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, KS Bharat, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav

Bench: KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Siraj

India are likely to bring back Mohammed Shami but it will be interesting to see who sits out the match. It could be Mohammed Siraj as he has to play the ODIs as well and the schedule ahead is pretty intense. There are rumours that the pitch will be green that would assist the seamers in which case Axar Patel may have to sit out. India’s top order will have to take more responsibility as they have failed to stitch big partnerships in this series. There are rumours that Ishan Kishan could replace KS Bharat but that would be a massive risk for India as Kishan’s ability with the gloves isn’t as good as Bharat.

Australia’s possible playing XI:

Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Peter Handscome, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy, Matt Kuhnemann,

Bench: Matthew Renshaw, Mitchell Swepson, Lance Morris, Scott Bolland

Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the match which means that Steve Smith will continue to lead the side. The visitors are likely to retain the same XI unless there is a grass cover on the pitch in which case Scott Bolland is likely to come in. Smith did a really good job as a captain but as a batter he is long overdue a good score in this series. Usman Khawaja has been Australia’s best batter in this series and his contribution will be very vital if Australia are to win this match.
