India dominates England on Day 2 of the second test

(Cricket news) Jaiswal’s double century followed by a sensational spell of bowling from Bumrah helped India to a commanding position on the Day 2 of the 2nd test match at Vizag. Coming into bat at 336/6 on day 2, India managed to add 60 more runs to their total, thanks a wonderful double century from the young sensation- Yashasvi Jaiswal who was accompanied by R Ashwin

396 did not looked like a very big total on the Vizag track and much to India’s despair, England came out all guns blazing. The openers added 59 runs in just 10 over before Kuldeep Yadav finally got a breakthrough in the form of Ben Duckett.

Zak Crawley, however continued his flawless batting and kept scoring at a fast rate. He along with Ollie Pope stitched a 55-run partnership and was looking dangerous. Post Crawley’s wicket the English batters were unable to battle against the absolute class of Jasprit Bumrah. They lost their next five wickets for just 68 runs. Bumrah beautifully worked over Joe Root and had him nicking one to slip, which was followed by a toe crushing yorker, arguably the best ball of this series to splatter Ollie Pope’s stumps.

Bumrah further dismissed Bairstow and was helped by Kuldeep Yadav who struck twice to reduce England to 182/7. Tom Hartley along with the English skipper Ben stokes, then built an important 47-run partnership before the latter was dismissed off a beauty from Bumrah helping him to his 4th scalp of the day.

The ace Indian pacer further cleaned up the English tail to bag a 6-wicket hall, bundling England out for 253. Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal then came into bat for a brief 5-overs and scored 28 runs to extend India’s lead to 171 runs, giving the hosts an upper-hand at the end of Day 2.
