India aim to seal series against Williamson-less New Zealand

(Cricket news) After winning the first ODI comfortably by 65 runs, India will be looking to seal the series. New Zealand will be without their skipper Kane Williamson while India are likely to retain the same playing XI. The match will be played at the Mclean Park at Napier. VVS Laxman who is coaching India at the moment has very fond memories at this ground. Laxman and Gautam Gambhir both scored a century to save the Test match here from a  very difficult match back in 2009. India ended up winning the series which was only their 2nd Test series win in New Zealand and the men in blue have not won a Test series in New Zealand ever since.

India's possible playing XI:

Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal

Bench: Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshal Patel, Umran Malik

Even though all the Indian batters excluding Suryakumar Yadav underperformed in the last game, India are likely to go in with the same XI. The bowlers all did a good enough job therefore there is no reason to change them. The Indian line-up is quite balanced: 4 seamers, 1 wrist spinner, 2 finger spinners. The only issue is that the batting depth is not ideal. This will be an important innings for Rishabh who hasn't played a good T20 innings in a while.

India's possible playing XI:

Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne

Bench: Michael Bracewell, Blair Tickner

Skipper Kane Williamson will not be available for the match as he has a medical appointment. He should be back for the first ODI. Mark Chapman has been added to the squad and should go straight into the Playing XI. New Zealand's batting was pretty disappointing and they would like to change that in this game. The Kiwis will be hoping to get a win in order to level the series.
