(Cricket news) The IDFC FIRST Bank Women’s ODI Series 2024 – India vs South Africa is set to begin on June 16 – 23, 2024, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. India will host the Proteas in an all-format tour, starting with a three-match ODI series, which will be available live on JioCinema and Sports18 – 1 (HD & SD).

India is heading into this series, having not played an ODI match, since the third game of their tour to Australia in January 2024. The first two games of the series were played in December 2023, with Australia winning the series against India. 

Results from this series count towards the 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship, with the top five teams on the points table getting direct qualification into the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup. The South African team are currently third on the table with 23 points out of 18 matches, winning 11 of them.

India is sixth on the table but is the only team to have played under 10 ODIs since the start of the tournament, as they secure qualification for the World Cup as hosts. The second game of the series will be played on June 19 and the third game will be played on June 23, with a one-off test match and a three-match T20I series to follow.
