Harry Kane scores twice in Tottenham’s win over Nottingham Forest

(Football news) Tottenham Hotspur continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League with a 2-0 win away at Nottingham Forest. The home crowd was absolutely buzzing throughout the game as expected. Antonio Conte started with the same line-up that defeated Wolves at home last week. Richarlison was once again left on the bench as was fellow newcomer Yves Bissouma. Nottingham Forest started with Jesse Lingard up front as a false 9. Forest were coming into the game after being unbeaten in 3 games in all competitions. Spurs on the other hand were also unbeaten in their last 4 games.

It took the away side just 5 minutes to open the scoring as Dejan Kulusevski assisted Harry Kane. Nottingham Forest had a lot of chances to get the equaliser but simply couldn't test Hugo Lloris. In the 53rd minute Tottenham were given a penalty after Steve Cook handled the ball. The handball was clear as daylight but the referee along with the VAR didn't think it was denying a clear goalscoring opportunity and only gave a yellow card. The spot kick from Harry Kane was wonderfully saved by Dean Henderson who continues to defy odds to save penalties. The save didn't affect the result as Harry did eventually score his second after a beautiful outside of the boot pass by Richarlison.

Richarlison is yet to start a Premier League game for Spurs but he is making a big impact off the bench. Son Heung-Min on the other hand has only had 1 assist in 4 games this season. The Korean did win the golden boot last season and cannot be counted out but Conte might be thinking of giving Richarlison a start in the next match. Harry Kane's 2 goals took his Premier League goal tally to 187 which is on level with Andy Cole, 21 behind Wayne Rooney and 73 behind the all time top goalscorer Alan Shearer.
