GT host MI as both the teams looks to get back some momentum back into their camp

GT welcome MI to the Narendra Modi Stadium for match number 35 this IPL season

(Cricket news) The only two Indian captains in IPL who have won the IPL trophy on their debut season as captains will face each other in Ahmedabad today. Mumbai Indians lost their first two matches and went on to clinch their three games in a row. MI are still in seventh position with six points whereas Titans are fourth on the standings with eight points. MI have been predominantly a batting-heavy side as finally their batting has paid dividends with Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav getting the bulk of the runs.

For MI, Chawla has been their most economical bowler this season and has picked up the most wickets (nine) at an economy rate (6.86) but the other bowlers have been very lackluster for Mumbai. On the other hand, Titans bowlers have been the best bowling line up this season as both Mohammed Shami and Rashid have combined to take 22 of the 40 wickets that they have taken in six games. But for the Titans their find of the season has to be the returning Mohit Sharma who is bowling with an economy rate of 4.66.

In the batting line-up, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha, have not clicked as an opening pair together, but individually they have performed really well. The likes of David Miller and Hardik have chipped in with crucial runs in the middle overs. But with their run rate of 7.37 runs per over, they subsequently have one of the lowest run rates among all teams from overs 7 to 15. This is where Mumbai really exploit the defending champions

Gujarat Titans

Last match Jayant Yadav replaced Gill’s place in the playing XI and is likely to continue with this approach.
