Glenn Maxwell Hospitalized After Alcohol-Related Incident

(Cricket News) Cricket Australia is looking into a reported incident involving star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell being hospitalized following a ‘alcohol-related incident.’ Maxwell was left out of Australia’s ODI squad, which was supposed to play the West Indies at home in a three-match ODI series beginning next month, but the CA said the decision had nothing to do with the incident.

Various sources claim that Maxwell had appeared in Adelaide before he was allegedly taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he was admitted for a short while and did not stay overnight.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Cricket Australia (CA) is looking into the incident, noting that it is “not related to him being replaced in the ODI squad, a decision that was made following the BBL and based on his individual management plan.”

Maxwell is expected to return for the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, which will take place after the ODI rubber next month. In addition, the statement stated that “Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information.”
