Sports news) Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr is set to join Baltimore Rovers as a free agent on a one year deal. The 30 year old missed last year’s NFL season due to a knee injury that he sustained in Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl victory over Cincinnati Bengals in 2022. The player will sign for $15m and could earn $3m in incentives. The confirmation of the transfer came on Instagram when he shared a picture of his son wearing a Ravens shirt.

Odell was also linked with a move to the New York Jets, having already spent five seasons with the New York Giants and scoring 44 touchdowns. He then switched to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 but his season ended prematurely in 2020 when he tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in a game against the Bengals. He then joined the Rams in November 2021 and scored the opening touchdown in the Super Bowl but was forced off in the second quarter after tearing his ACL again.

The decision to sign Odell Beckham Jr. Has been criticised by Nick Wright who said “I think this is very risky for Baltimore. I think this is a I don’t think this debunks the idea that receivers don’t want to play in Baltimore. I think it debunks the idea that you can’t bribe a guy into doing it. $15 million guaranteed and he turns 31 this year… I also wanted Odell on my team, I think he still has something left in the tank, but I think relying on him to be your number-one weapon is risky.”
