(Motorsport News) The 2023 Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix, Formula E’s first-ever race in India, held in partnership with the Telangana government, has yielded a substantial economic impact of nearly USD 84 million, as per a report.

A comprehensive economic analysis conducted by Nielsen Sports Analysis has determined a remarkable uplift of USD 83.7 million for Hyderabad’s economy, stemming from the debut race of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in India on February 11.

The race event garnered a crowd of over 31,000 attendees and supporters, with a notable majority (59 percent) hailing from outside Hyderabad. This influx of external participation has significantly contributed to the local economy through inward investment, according to a press release.

Jean-Éric Vergne, the sole double champion of Formula E, emerged victorious in the fiercely contested race. The event was witnessed by audiences in over 150 countries globally and was graced by the presence of numerous distinguished guests.
