Real Madrid ask Aurélien Tchouaméni to wait for another season

(Football news) Real Madrid have been closely keeping tabs on AS Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni for over a year now. At the age of 22, the Frenchman has attracted interest from the big clubs. He has shown his quality with Monaco and also with the French national team. Liverpool are expected to give Los Blancos stiff competition for the youngster's signature. Tchouaméni would cost around €70 million because he still has 3 years left in his current contract.

Real Madrid last season signed 18 year old Eduardo Camavinga who has become a very important player. Camavinga's impact in just 1 season shows why Real Madrid must go for Tchouaméni. At this moment, Los Blancos do not have a direct replacement for Casemiro. While the Monaco wonderkid isn't a proper number 6 like Casemiro, he is closer than any other options that Real Madrid have. Reports in Spain however suggest that Real Madrid have no intention of completing the signing this summer and have instead told the player to stay at Monaco for another year before coming to Madrid. It will be interesting to see if Tchouaméni does wait that long or whether he decides on some other club.

Real Madrid have their right reasons to not buy the midfielder this season. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are having yet another solid season and are showing no signs of slowing down. Casemiro is also going solid and has many years left in the tank. Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga have been mighty impressive this season and look ready to take over at any time. Dani Ceballos has recently put in some good performances and there are rumours that Carlo Ancelotti wants to keep hold of the player as he believes that he will be the future of the club. Castilla player Antonio, who had some decent performances with the first team last season has played 36 minutes this season.

With as many as 7 options for Real Madrid in midfield it wouldn't make sense for them to spend so much money on Tchouaméni. The Frenchman definitely has a lot of potential but currently he isn't going to become a first choice player at Real Madrid. Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in his services but playing another season with Monaco before switching to Real Madrid wouldn't be a bad move for Tchouaméni.
