Napoli face Atalanta in a top of the table clash, Inter take on Juve

(Football news) After suffering their first defeat of the season, Napoli are looking for an immediate response in a top-of-the-table clash with Atalanta BC. Both teams are separated by five points at the top of the Serie A standings as the visitors hold the upper hand, both teams have surpassed expectations this season as it will be an interesting match. Both lost their 100% record in this season's Champions League and they were beaten for the first time since April, Napoli streak got disrupted by Liverpool on Tuesday. Though they were virtually assured of top spot in the Group, Luciano Spalletti still named a strong starting XI at Anfield, but succumbed to a couple of late goals from Liverpool. 

Spalletti's side can concentrate on their pursuit of a first Scudetto for over 30 years, as they play Empoli and Udinese in the last two fixtures before the 2022 World Cup. Spalletti as a head coach is also seeking his first Italian title after a relatively successful career and he can surpass his best streak as Napoli coach if they beat Atalanta, aiming for nine wins on the row in Serie A. While the side from Bergamo saw their impressive unbeaten end late last month to Lazio after suffering a 2-0 loss in their most recent outing at home, they still sit above both Milan clubs, Juventus and Roma in the race for a top-four place.

Atalanta BC possible starting lineup:

Musso; Toloi, Demiral, Djimsiti; Hateboer, Pasalic, Koopmeiners, Soppy; Ederson; Lookman, Muriel

Napoli possible starting lineup:

Meret; Di Lorenzo, Kim, Jesus, Rui; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Lozano, Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia

With both the clubs lagging behind in the Serie A title race, Juventus and Inter Milan battle it out at Turin in the Derby d'Italia. Inter beat Juve in last season's Coppa Italia final and the Supercoppa Italiana, but they are also two points ahead of them after the disastrous start the Old lady have had this season. While injuries have contributed to some struggles in the attack but across the top European leagues, only Barcelona, Juve's and Benfica have conceded fewer goals domestically. Inter on the other hand have shipped 17 goals so far, which is their highest tally at this stage for 11 years.

Inter are placed sixth after 12 matches in the Serie A and an improving Inter have already qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds before they were beaten 2-0 by Bayern Munich. After an inconsistent start, they achieved back-to-back success against Group C counterparts Barcelona which seemed to have reignited the Nerazzurri's season and they have subsequently won their last four league fixtures. They have the chance to win five in a row for the first time since January, and they have also gone seven games without defeat in all competitions but that streak was broken by Bayern in the UCL.

Inter Milan possible starting lineup:
