Crystal Palace close to completing Van de Beek loan deal on Vieira’s demand

(Football news) Crystal Palace are one step away from securing Donny van de Beek on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season. Pattrick Vieira is said to have specifically asked for the player. Van de Beek has only played 380 minutes this season and desperately needs to move away to get some minutes.

Crystal Palace already have Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea. Gallagher has been a revelation under Vieira this season. It would be good for Van de Beek and Manchester United if something similar happens with him. There is no doubt that the midfielder is talented like he showed at Ajax by performing on the big Champions League nights and also with the Dutch national team but ever since his move to Manchester United he has struggled to break into the team. A change in manager hasn't really affected that. Van de Beek needs this loan move to get his career back on track. He is still only 24 years of age and has a lot left to prove. A manager like Vieira is likely to get the best out of him. He can slot straight into the 3 man midfield as a box to box with Gallagher being the number 10.

Palace are currently in a safe 13th position on the Premier League table. Vieira will be keen to push into the upper half of the table and Van de Beek could help him do exactly that. Despite the fact that he hasn't played a lot of football over the past year or so he is a quality player who has produced in the big games for both Ajax and Netherlands. As for Manchester United, if Palace are offering a good loan fee and willing to pay his wages it is a good deal for a player who is clearly out of favor. If he does have a good loan spell then they can look at him next season with a new manager.
