The state intends to run a talent-finding initiative with this sport’s fans between the ages of 12 and 17. The athletics department will host a 10-day event where kids may compete and show off their gaming prowess. The MP state junior championship will coincide with this talent discovery program.
The goal of establishing the Academy, according to sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, is to develop sports that are represented at the Asian Games and the Olympics. In addition to traditional sports, the academy will give young people the chance to develop their talents in these new sports.
This sport has recently been added to the Asian Games 2022 as a medal sport and as a test event for the Commonwealth Games 2022. The esports industry is expected to expand four times quicker and reach INR 1,100 crore by 2025, per a 2021 E&Y estimate.
