(Football news) After a little slump Tottenham Hotspur finally found their groove as they defeated Crystal Palace 4-0 away from home. Now they will take on League one side Portsmouth in the FA Cup. It has been over 14 years since Tottenham last won a trophy and the FA Cup is possibly their best shot at it this season as they have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup.

Richarlison, Lucas Moura, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur are still out with injuries. Yves Bissouma will be back after serving his 1 match ban but Antonio Conte may want to stick with Oliver Skipp in midfield. Conte may want to rest Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg before the crucial North London derby next week. Portsmouth who are currently 12th in the League one table will have to play out of their skin to get the better of Spurs.

Liverpool lost to Brentford in midweek and their troubles are getting worse. Now they have a FA Cup round 3 clash against Wolves. Virgil Van Dijk’s hamstring has turned out to be worse than anticipated and now according to Jurgen Klopp he could be out for as long as a month. Arthur, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are still nowhere near full fitness but Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Roberto Firmino should be back.

Gody Gakpo has been officially registered as a Liverpool player and the Dutchman is likely to make his debut for the Merseyside club. Liverpool are defending champions and they will be looking to win the trophy for the 2nd time in a row. Wolves on the other hand are struggling in the Premier League as the Wanderers are currently 19th on the Premier League table. There is optimism around new manager Julen Lopetegui who has won 1 lost 1 and drawn 1 since his arrival. A win in the FA Cup against Liverpool will be a massive statement.
