(Cricket news) Heinrich Klaasen led the way with a magnificent 104-run performance (51b, 8×4, 6×6) as the SRH set a respectable goal of 187 runs when batting first. All of it was undone by Virat Kohli’s legendary performance as he scored his first century in this year’s IPL 100 (63b, 12×4, 4×6) and helped RCB move up to the fourth spot in the points table.

SRH could have scored more runs but there was no support given to Klaasen by his team mates or SRH would’ve scored more 20 to 30 runs in the 1st innings. Micheal Bracwell took 2 wickets in his 2 overs and gave away 13 runs. Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Harshal Patel are the other bowlers who took wickets. All of them took a wicket each.

RCB battings 2nd chased the 187 runs target with 4 balls to spare. All thanks to the great partnership between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. They both opened the innings and scored 172 runs in 17.2 overs until Virat Kohli lost his wicket. 

After this win over SRH, RCB went into the 4th place with level points with MI. Both the teams have played the same number of games. After 13 games and one game to go only the net run rate makes the difference between both the teams. The net run rate is very bad for MI, and they need to hope that GT defeats RCB in the last match. 

MI will play SRH in their last game at the Wankhede stadium which has been their fortress for them for a long time. On the other hand RCB will table toppers GT at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. If MI wants to qualify then they have to win that match by a bigger margin. RCB just needs to win points as they have a good lead in the net run rate.

After scoring 71 runs Faf du Plessis leads the highest run scorer and is running away with the orange cap as he has scored 702 runs in 13 matches. Yashaswi Jaiswal in 2nd place has scored 576 runs. Mohammed Shami is still the purple cap holder with most wickets in the IPL with 23.
