Eoin Morgan looking to extend England’s winning streak at the ICC T20 World Cup

(Cricket news) England are currently on a 4 match winning streak at the ICC T20 World Cup, they are on top in Group 1 with 8 points from 4 matches. The team has done well so far in the tournament and has a spot in the semifinals waiting along with Pakistan who are also unbeaten at the event.

The bowling department has been economical in all the four matches they have played as the highest score was 137 by Sri Lanka in their 4th match. Out of the 4 matches, the opposition have been all out thrice and only Bangladesh could survive the bowling onslaught as they lost nine wickets out of ten in the second match. Defending champion West Indies got a taste of England bowlers in the very first game as they were all out for 55.

Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes have been bowling in all the matches. Woakes has taken a wicket in each match with Moeen Ali playing three matches and also taking a wicket in all the three. Tymal Mills and Rashid have taken seven wickets each with Moeen and Jordan taking six each. Rashid has the best bowling figures as he took four wickets in fourteen balls while giving away just two runs against West Indies.

Only Tymal Mills has given away more than 35 runs in a match for the team. He proved to be expensive against Australia when his spell leaked 45 runs while taking two wickets. Rashid gave away 35 runs against Bangladesh and went wicketless. Even without Ben Stokes and Joffra Archer, the England side have performed astonishingly well in the bowling department as they will aim to erase their 2016 finals and bring in the glorious campaign 2010 back to this decade.

In the batting side, Jos Buttler has been the leading run getter in the tournament with 214 runs in 4 matches with one century and two half centuries. He is at present the only centurion in this year’s World Cup with an unbeaten 101 off 67 balls. Although he has found a bit of support from Jason Roy who has scored 103 runs in 4 matches, England’s batting has not been able to come close to their bowlers. They have lost four wickets twice and have lost two wickets twice so their tail enders did not have to pad up for batting. England will next face South Africa on 6th November.
