(Cricket News) Ellyse Perry, an Australian all-rounder for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women, expressed her concern after breaking a car window during a Women’s Premier League (WPL) game on Monday, March 4. Playing in Bengaluru against the UP Warriorz (UPW) Women, Perry hit a six in the penultimate over of the RCB’s innings, shattering the windscreen of tournament sponsor Tata’s automobile.

The Australian was perplexed by her own shot and instantly covered her head with her hand to suggest that “she didn’t mean to do it.” After the game, Perry discussed the shot and stated, “I was a little worried.” I’m not sure if I’m covered by insurance over here. Thus, there is some conflict there.

After completing with 58 off 37 balls, Perry and captain Smriti Mandhana made 95 runs for the second wicket. Mandhana struck 50 off 80 balls. Both contributed to RCB’s season-high 198/3 in 20 overs. Perry also gave Mandhana and the Bengaluru audience credit for helping her settle down before making a huge move.

“It is the best crowd I have ever regularly performed for in my career,” Perry remarked. “It was nice to release a few at the end, and I had a great chance to get in with Smriti [Mandhana] at the other end.”

As they pursued, UPW got off to a quick start thanks to the 47 runs that openers Alyssa Healy and Karan Navgire scored in just 4.1 overs. But the chase was quickly derailed as Healy, who scored 38 runs off of 55 balls, and the other half of UPW were back in the hut after 12.3 overs at 113 runs.

The innings was then attempted to be saved by Deepti Sharma (33) and Poonam Khemnar (31) but it was too late. Ultimately, the Warriorz lost the match by 23 runs after managing just 175/8 in 20 overs. With the victory, RCB is now even on the points table with the Delhi Capitals, who are atop the table, and the Mumbai Indians, who are in second place. All three teams have six points.
