ECB confirms schedule for England’s tour to the Caribbean

(Cricket news) Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the match schedule and venues for Men’s T20 Internationals and Test Tours of the West Indies in January and March 2022.

England will arrive in the West Indies to play a five match T20I Series between the two teams which is going to be the first five match T20 series. All five matches will be played across  nine-days in Barbados from January 22 to 30, 2022, including two consecutive weekends of back-to-back T20 cricket.

After West Indies’ white-ball tour of India in February 2022, the West Indies will welcome back England to play a three-match Test Series to compete for the newly created Richards-Botham Trophy. This new trophy honours two legends of cricket, Sir Vivian Richards and Lord Ian Botham, whose friendship and on-field heroics became legendary and with this gesture they hope to pay respect to some of their greatest Test match moments.

The Test Series will start at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground (SVRCG) in Antigua on March 8, 2022.The next match moves to the Kensington Oval in Barbados for the 2nd Test starting on March 16. The 3rd Test match will take place on March 24 in Grenada at the National Cricket Stadium.

CWI will welcome fully vaccinated fans throughout the tour. The fans will be looking forward to this series as after a long delay a proper West Indies tour for the England team will happen.
