Dortmund face Gladbach while Bayern take on Schalke in the penultimate game of the season

Bayern holds a narrow 1 point lead over Dortmund in the title race as both teams look for crucial wins

(Football news) Thomas Tuchel has experienced a very indifferent start to his reign as Bayern Munich manager, as he has seen his side win four game two draws and three losses since replacing Julian Nagelsmann. Bayern find themselves in pole position with three matches remaining, as they need to win their remaining three fixtures to win their 11th successive title and continue their dominance over German football.

After a shock 3-1 defeat to Mainz 05, Bayern bounced back with a routine 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin before they beat Werder Bremen 2-1 last week, courtesy goals from Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane. Bayern have maintained their unbeaten run at home winning 10 and drawing five of their 15 Bundesliga games at the Allianz Arena this season. They have won five of their previous six home leagues where they have scored 18 goals as Bayern Munich will be confident of beating relegation-threatened Schalke and strengthening their lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings.

Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:

Sommer; Mazraoui, Pavard, De Ligt, Cancelo; Gravenberch, Kimmich; Coman, Musiala, Mane; Gnabry

Schalke 04 possible starting lineup:

Schwolow; Brunner, Van den Berg, Kaminski, Matriciani; Krauss, Kral; Karaman, Zalazar, Bulter; Terodde

Borussia Dortmund ensured that they are on the tail of Bayern Munich and make sure that they will not waltz away with their 11th successive Bundesliga title as they kept the pressure on with a huge victory over Wolfsburg last week. Karim Adeyemi and Jude Bellingham both bagged a brilliant brace as Sebastien Haller and Donyell Malen completed the scoring to win 6-0. Malen is in top form having scored seven goals across the last seven league games.

Sunday’s victory was Dortmund’s 10th straight win at home while BVB have avoided defeat in each of their last 13 home games as their home form has kept them in the race for the title with Bayern. Edin Terzic’s men have been in excellent form after the World Cup break, as they have suffered only one defeat in 16 league matches, taking 39 points from a possible 48. In this period they have scored 41 goals across their 10-game winning streak on home soil and have netted at least four goals in seven matches. Borussia Dortmund know that this is going to be their most difficult match out of their remaining three games.

Borussia Dortmund possible starting lineup:

Kobel; Wolf, Sule, Hummels, Ryerson; Bellingham, Can, Brandt; Malen, Haller, Adeyemi

Borussia Monchengladbach possible starting lineup:

Omlin; Lainer, Friedrich, Elvedi, Bensebaini; Weigl, Kone; Neuhaus, Hofmann, Ngoumou; Plea
