DC United & Atlético Madrid emerge as potential destinations for Bale

(Football news) Gareth Bale's Real Madrid contract will run out at the end of the season and it is pretty clear that Los Blancos are not going to renew his deal. His agent has come out and said that the player hasn't decided about his future yet. Reports suggest that Bale's future depends on Wales' World Cup qualification. The rumours are that Bale will retire from all forms of football if Wales don't qualify for the World Cup and if they do, he will sign a short term contract with another club.

There are several reports linking Gareth Bale to other clubs. Spanish media outlets have said that Bale wants to continue playing in Spain and Atletico Madrid is a serious option. Bale's agent in many interviews has said that the player and his family really like living in Madrid. The Welshman's relationship isn't good and a move to Wand Metropolitan would make him Bernabéu's number 1 enemy. The winger is still 32 years of age and if fit can be a match winner for any side in europe. His recent performance for Wales in the World Cup qualifiers where he scored twice against Austria is proof of that.

DC United are said to have contacted Bale's agent over a potential summer switch. The MLS club are reportedly ready to offer Bale more money than they did to Wayne Rooney in 2018. The move could be good for both the club and the player as Bale will be the talisman at the club which is something he thrives on. His ultimate goal always seems to be doing well with Wales and taking them to the World Cup. The MLS is a place where he can play regular football and also stay match fit for his national side.

Bale has only played 290 minutes for Real Madrid this season in all competitions. The reason for his lack of game time is an accumulation of Ancelotti preference of Rodrygo and Marco Asensio along with consistent injuries. He started off as Ancelotti's first choice winger but an injury once again pushed him down the pecking order. Now that Real Madrid are just 1 point away from securing the La Liga title, Bale could get more game time.
