(Cricket news) The Ireland tour of West Indies will be starting tomorrow for a three match ODI series and a T20. The West Indies side has many young players on the side, especially bowlers as they will try to set things right at home. The most senior player on the side, Kieron Pollard will be leading the side and is playing the 50 over format after a gap of 6 months. Even though they last won a match in October at the T20 World Cup, the players will be keen to make a breakthrough. Here are the four players to watch out for from the West Indies in the ODI series.

Jason Holder

Holder has been the most valuable player for the team as he is an asset in batting and bowling. The 30 year old would desperately want a victory as they have not played not the format in a while and their last victory was in March in ODI’s. Holder along with Pollard can lead the young side against an experienced Ireland team.

Shai Hope

The wicket keeper batter was the leading run scorer for the team last year in the 50 over format. Over the last 5 years, Hope has played 83 ODI matches which makes him a seasoned player in the format as the rest of the players have played more T20 matches in the past 12 months. He is the leading scorer for the team in the format among active players with 3599 runs and is the only player from the side to have a 50 plus average.

Alzarri Joseph

Joseph has been the fastest bowler for the team in the shorter formats as he clocks around 145 km/hour. He is 6 ft five inches which explains the bouncers coming in from that height can be risky to deal with especially with that speed. In 37 ODI’s the pacer has picked up 60 wickets as one can expect him to strike in every spell.

Akeal Hosein

Hosein made his debut for the team last year and has been a spinner which the team can rely on. The 28 year old has so far played in 9 matches and has been economical in all the matches. His economy rate has been under 6 in every innings and in the last match against Australia the spinner gave away 29 runs in 10 overs. Hosein will be able to slow down the run rate when not taking wickets and will try to keep his economy rate the same.
