Unmukt Chand snubbed from USA squad, as Anderson, Harmeet finds a place

(Cricket News) Unmukt Chand the former Indian U19 World Cup winning skipper, failed to find a place in the USA squad for the 5-match T20I series against Canada. Former Blackcaps allrounder Corey Anderson has been included in the 15-man squad. Anderson immigrated to the US and has now been inducted to the national side as a fresh face.

The squad also features several other new faces as well. The new inductions include former Harmeet Singh, Milind Kumar, Andries Gous, Shadley Van Schalkwyk and Nitish Kumar. Corey Anderson played his last international game for New Zealand in the year 2018 and is set to make a return to international cricket after more than 5 years.

Unmukt Chand the Indian batter, who immigrated to the US has been left out of the squad. Chand has captained the Indian U19 side to a World Cup win, but decided to move out to USA in search of opportunities in the international circuit. He had 3 prolific MiLC seasons which saw him score runs for fun. He scored over 1500 runs in 45 innings and is second on the run charts in the history of the MiLC. Despite of his continuous performances he still has been snubbed from the national side.

Another Former India U19 fame Harmeet Singh has been rewarded for his relentless performances in domestic competitions. He has found a spot in the USA side on the back of some exceptional performances. He also led MiLC team Seattle Thunderbolts to a silverware in 2022 season and further became the number 1 domestic draft pick in the history of MLC.

Milind Kumar, former RCB and Delhi batter has also made a break into the side after a fine show in the MiLC , scoring over 1100 runs in 35 innings. Along side him, Nitish Kumar the Ex-Canada skipper has also made a surprising entry on back of some good knocks in the National T20 and the practice games in the training camp. He did not had a very impressive MiLc season and also had to face a lot competition with the likes of some quality players such as Unmukt Chand. However he still managed to make a cut.
