Cesc Fabregas announces retirement at the age of 36

(Football news) Cesc Fabregas who last played for Serie B Como has officially retired from professional football. He will take over as the manager of the Como U19 and B team. Fabregas had an extraordinary career at Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea. He won a total of 15 collective trophies in addition to the Golden Boy award in 2006 and PFA Young Player of the Year in 2007/08. He was a part of the UEFA Team of the Year in 2006 and 2008; PFA Premier League Team of the Year in 2007-09 and 2009-10. Cesc Fabregas has had a scintillating career and judging by his intelligence as a player he has the capability to become a world-class manager.

Coming from the prestigious La Masia Academy of Barcelona, Cesc Fabregas took a bold decision to join Arsenal in 2003. A 16-year-old Cesc Fabregas shared a dressing room with Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp, Jens Lehman, Ashley Cole, Robert Pires, Thierry Henry and Sol Campbell. In that legendary Arsenal team, Fabregas soon made a name for himself. By the summer of 2006, he became a regular member of the starting line-up. In 2008 Cesc Fabregas was named club captain at the age of just 21. 

In 2011 Cesc Fabregas returned to Barcelona and won a La Liga and a Copa del Rey. In 2014, Fabregas joined Chelsea where he won 2 Premier Leagues and an FA Cup. For Spain Fabregas was a crucial part of the team that won the World Cup in 2010 and back-to-back Euros in 2008 and 2012. Fabregas is one of the best creative midfielders football has ever produced. He has worked with three of the greatest managers of all time in Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. He is definitely one player turned manager to look out for in the future.
