ABU DHABI, UAE – Following a  joint press conference, captains Paul Stirling and Aidan Markram posed with the T20I series trophy ahead of the first match between Ireland Men and South Africa Men starting tomorrow at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

The T20I fixtures are:

  • 27 September 2024: Ireland Men v South Africa Men (1st T20I; Abu Dhabi; start 4.30pm)
  • 29 September 2024: Ireland Men v South Africa Men (2nd T20I; Abu Dhabi; start 4.30pm)

  • Head-to-head, South Africa have won all five T20Is that the two sides have played:
    • The two sides last played T20I cricket against each other in 2022, with the Proteas winning the series in Bristol 2-0 (see here).
    • Prior to that, the two sides had only previously played three T20Is – those being in Ireland in 2021 (see here).
  • The last time Ireland Men last played T20I cricket in Abu Dhabi was in March earlier this year when they had a competitive series against Afghanistan, just losing 1-2 (see here).
