Bumrah back for Dharamsala test, KL Rahul ruled out

(Cricket News) The Indian vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will rejoin the Indian side ahead of the fifth test match in Dharamsala. Bumrah was rested from the fourth test in Ranchi, with view to manage his workload after a hectic first three games.

Bumrah has been key to India’s success in the past few years. The team management wants to keep him fresh and ready for some key assignments coming up this year. He will join the Mumbai Indians next month for the IPL 2024, post which there is the T20 World Cup where he will play a major role for the Indian team.

The Indian pacer has been busy throughout the England series, having bowled more than 80 overs in the first three games. Bumrah has taken a total of 17 wickets in the series at an average of 13.6. Akash Deep, the pacer from Bengal replaced him in the 11 for the Ranchi test.

Meanwhile, Kl Rahul has been officially ruled out of the final test. Rahul has failed to recover from the quadriceps Injury and has reportedly been sent to London for his treatment. He batted well in the first test and also scored a fifty, however a pain in his quadriceps has made him sit out of the last three tests.

Washington Sundar has been released from the squad, in order to allow him to be a part of the Tamil Nadu side for their Ranji trophy semi-finals against Mumbai.
