Bukayo Saka’s Arsenal future heavily depends on Champions League qualification

(Football news) Arsenal took a massive step towards a top 4 spot by defeating Wolves with 10-men. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United dropped points which now puts Arsenal in a commanding position. A Champions League spot is important for Arsenal as they haven't played in it since 2016/17.

Another reason why they need it this season itself is Bukayo Saka. Over the past year and a half Saka has announced himself to world football. After breaking into the Arsenal side the winger had a fantastic tournament at the Euros with England despite missing the penalty in the final that eventually cost England the trophy. Saka has been the main man for Mikel Arteta but this is where the trouble can start.

Bukayo Saka is a hot property that several clubs will be looking at around the world but more so in England. Saka is definitely at the level now where he needs to be with the big boys playing regular Champions League football. If Arsenal once again fail to make it to the top 4 then holding onto Saka would be a huge task even if he is a boyhood Arsenal fan from North London. Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are clubs which pretty much guarantee UCL football every season and can entice the English forward.

Arsenal need a revamp as their squad is paper thin at the moment with a couple players already leaving in the summer. A UCL qualification will bring in much needed funds to sign players. It is no secret that a UCL qualification will not only make the players stay but will also attract more players. Saka's current deal ends in 2024 and reports suggest that he is open to a potential exit which is likely if Arsenal fail to qualify for the UCL.

Arsenal are currently 5th on the table but it will be a yoyo till the end with West Ham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all fighting for the 4th place. The Gunners are currently 1 long term injury away from a crisis which is very risky and it wouldn't be a surprise if Arsenal don't get a European place at all.
