Luke Browning, the winner of the Macau Grand Prix, is hoping that his achievement would lead him a chance to test with the Williams Formula 1 team.

(Motorsports news) As a member of the Williams Driver Academy, the British driver, Luke Browning, dominated the Macau Grand Prix last weekend, taking first place in the qualifying race, winning the main event, and setting a new record. After winning the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award the previous year, he got to have a drive in a 2021 Aston Martin, and now he claims he’s prepared to challenge Williams for a chance to drive one there, possibly even during a free practice session.

Regarding the possibility of doing a run in a Williams F1 car, Browning told, “I would love it.” “I’ll be picking up the phone and asking the team as many times as I can. However, there is a hierarchy to this material, and they will have their reasons.” Browning’s triumph in Macau marks the conclusion of a difficult campaign in which he failed to get the outcomes he was hoping for in F3 with Hitech. He finished the year in 15th place in the standings, with his best performance coming in second at the Spanish GP sprint event.

However, he hopes to compete in the same category the following year and perform at the level he did over the Macau weekend. “To be honest, this year was really tough in terms of results in F3,” he stated. “However, I believe it was evident to all those who observed and examined the specifics that the greatest disparity on the grid was between our speed and our position in the championship.

“Each time we appeared to be moving quickly, there was a problem, I made a mistake, or I was blocked. It has been an extremely difficult year of learning. “But I’ll tell you what, moving into Macau and the upcoming season, I don’t think anyone has learnt any more. Though I haven’t signed and confirmed yet, the plan is for me to win this F3.” Browning went on to say that he felt “extraordinary” to be included among the illustrious Macau Grand Prix champions.

“Of course it is a confidence boost,” he stated. It’s a little strange to see your name listed among the names of past champions like [Ayrton] Senna after winning in Macau. But even just showing up felt strange. I had never traveled to China or Macau before, so it’s amazing to step off the plane and find yourself in a foreign country halfway across the globe while having to play with such small margins. However, I have enjoyed every second of it, and I’m thankful to have won.”
