(Cricket News) Jude Bellingham is facing accusations of directing the term “rapist” towards fellow Englishman Mason Greenwood during their La Liga match on Thursday.

In Real Madrid’s 2-0 triumph over Getafe, Bellingham was caught on camera mouthing what seemed to be the word “rapist.” Fans watching the match on TV noticed the incident, with some speculating that Bellingham may have actually said “rubbish.” La Liga confirmed that they would involve a lip reader to analyze the footage. In a statement, La Liga mentioned, “Getafe yesterday transferred the complaint to the La Liga match director, and La Liga, as it always does on these occasions, has requested an expert report on lip reading to investigate the matter and act on the basis of what can be proven beyond doubt [by the lip reader].”

Greenwood, who is on loan at Getafe from Manchester United, faced legal scrutiny in the past due to a criminal investigation into a potential attempted rape. However, the case was closed by prosecutors, citing a lack of realistic prospects for conviction, despite key witnesses withdrawing and new material coming to light. Greenwood, 22, has performed well for Getafe, contributing to the team’s 10th place in the standings, despite a loss to league leader Madrid. Joselu Mato scored a goal in each half, securing Madrid’s sixth consecutive league victory and maintaining their unbeaten streak of 25 matches in all competitions since September. Madrid is currently ten points ahead of both Atletico Madrid and defending champion Barcelona in the league standings.
