These players are unwavering in their resolve to forgo playing red-ball cricket, even after BCCI secretary Jay Shah has issued several warnings. There are currently talks about maybe removing these players from the central contract list, although it’s unclear if such an extreme measure will be implemented. As the BCCI works to preserve the fundamentals of Test cricket, the cricket community awaits the conclusion of these discussions.

For instance, in addition to the yearly retainer contract, an individual should receive additional rewards if they participate in every Test series over a given year.
