Bayern Munich to replace Julian Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel

In a shocking turn of events Bayern Munich are set to sack Julian Nagelsmann and replace him with Thomas Tuchel
Bayern Munich

(Football news) Bayern Munich are currently 1 point behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund. They have defeated PSG to enter the UCL quarter finals however that hasn’t been enough for Bayern Munich’s board. According to reports Julian Nagelsmann is set to be sacked in the coming days. Former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel who was sacked by Chelsea earlier this season has already accepted the job. The decision is very surprising and out of the blue as the Bavarian side aren’t having that bad a season as they are still in hunt to win the treble.

Nagelsmann has been Bayern Munich manager for the past one and a half season. Last season Bayern Munich did win the Bundesliga for the 10th consecutive time but they were knocked out of the UCL quarter finals by Villarreal. There is definitely something that has happened behind the scenes which has resulted in Nagelsmann’s dismissal. The Bayern Munich board would’ve been thinking that Nagelsmann doesn’t have a long term future. Thomas Tuchel is on the market and he won’t remain available for a long time hence Bayern have acted very quickly to get him on board.

It is very unlucky for Nagelsmann but he will be looking to get back to business again. From Bayern Munich’s perspective Tuchel is definitely an upgrade and he will improve this Bayern Munich team. The timing of the managerial change is good as Tuchel has the international break to work in. It will be interesting to see how and what he changes in the system. The manager will likely switch to a 3 at the back formation. Tuchel’s first game in charge will be the Der Klassiker against his former club Borussia Dortmund.
