(Football news) Bayern Munich were dismantled by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium as they lost 3-0. Now Thomas Tuchel’s men look to secure a comeback for the ages in Bavaria. Bayern Munich drew 1-1 at home to Hoffenheim which isn’t ideal. Manchester City on the other hand won 3-1 against Leicester City and cut the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal. City will be very confident coming into this game and Bayern Munich will have to play the game of their lives. Thomas Tuchel is under immense amount of pressure as things haven’t gone too well for him since he replaced Julian Nagelsmann.

After the first leg Sadio Mane allegedly punched Leroy Sane after an argument. Mane was subsequently suspended for the weekend’s match by Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he will be back as the player has already apologized. He is likely to be on the bench as Tuchel seems to prefer other players that suit his system better. Manuel Neuer, Lucas Hernandez, Paul Wanner and Gabriel Marusic are all still out of contention. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was a big miss in the first leg but the striker is back in training. How many minutes he can play renains to be seen as he might not be able to start the game.

As for Manchester City, Phil Foden is back in the squad which means that now there are no absentees. Pep Guardiola is likely to continue using the hybrid 3 at the back formation with John Stones in midfield. City aren’t one of those teams who will sit back and defend their lead. Bayern Munich will be aware of their attacking prowess with Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish feeding Erling Haaland. An early goal is an absolute must for the German team because that will throw City off guard. Joshua Kimmich in midfield will play a very important role as will Jamal Musiala.
