(Football news) Bayern Munich are looking for their fourth consecutive victory as they host Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday. The two teams go into the weekend as the top two sides in the table, with the defending champions Bayern boasting the only 100% record in the Bundesliga after three matches. It has been a blistering start by the Bavarians, with Julian Nagelsmann's team scoring 20 goals in four matches. Last weekend, Bayern travelled to VfL Bochum and Nagelsmann's men inflicted the heaviest defeat of his reign as Bayern ran out 7-0 victors this time in a ruthless display of finishing ability.
For the second time in three matches, Bayern had scored at least four goals at the half-time. Last weekend Matthijs de Ligt scored his first goal for the club as his goal was sandwiched by strikes from Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman, who were subsequently making their first starts of the season. Sadio Mane has scored four goals in four matches as he scored his first brace for his new club, with Serge Gnabry sealing the rout after Cristian Gamboa's own goal. Despite total domination, Manuel Neuer made seven saves in the match, which Nagelsmann may view as an area where there is clear room for improvement, especially against in-form Gladbach side who have conjured up 7 points from three matches in the Bundesliga this season
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Pavard, De Ligt, Hernandez, Davies; Sabitzer, Kimmich; Gnabry, Muller, Musiala; Mane
Borussia Monchengladbach possible starting lineup:
Sommer; Scally, Itakura, Elvedi, Netz; Kramer, Kone, Neuhaus; Hofmann, Thuram, Plea
Hertha Berlin take on Borussia Dortmund on Saturday as both teams will be looking to bounce back from disappointing defeats from last weekend. Dortmund, meanwhile, will feel that they should have won three out of three matches, but Edin Terzic's side threw away a two-goal lead against Werder Bremen last weekend in the dying minutes. Two strikes from distance from Julian Brandt and Raphael Guerreiro looked to have provided BVB with a third straight victory, which would have ensured that were level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga, but their newly-promoted opponents had other ideas as they made a sensational comeback in final minutes at the Westfalenstadion.
Like Dortmund the week before Bremern’s three substitutes scored for all the three goals, with Lee Buchanan scored for his side with a delightful finish into the top corner with only one minute of normal time remaining, before Niklas Schmidt and Oliver Burke snuck in some injury-time goals to turn the match on its head. Terzic will not only be disappointed by his team's collapse, but also their performance across the match, with Bremen enjoying more possession, shots and corners, suggesting that they deserved that victory.
Hertha Berlin possible starting lineup:
Christensen; Kenny, Dardai, Kempf, Plattenhardt; Serdar, Sunjic, Tousart; Lukebakio, Selke, Boetius
Borussia Dortmund possible starting lineup:
Kobel; Sule, Hummels, Schlotterbeck; Meunier, Can, Bellingham, Guerreiro; Adeyemi, Modeste, Reus
