Barcelona play Inter at San Siro; Bayern Munich host Viktoria Plzen

(Football news) The Champions League is back for the 3rd matchday. Group C consisting of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter Milan is looking like a three horse race right now. Bayern are currently on 6 points while Barcelona and Inter are on 3 points each. Viktoria Plzen are yet to win a single match. At the moment it looks like it's going to be a fight for 2nd place between Inter and Barcelona but things could change after the 3rd matchday. Barcelona failed to get out of their group in the last year while Inter have also faced the same problems. One of the teams will have to face the same once again unless Bayern Munich drop down which is unlikely.

Barcelona will travel to the San Siro to take on Inter Milan. The Blaugrana lost their last UCL tie to Bayern Munich but have recovered well with 2 wins in the La Liga and they are currently joint 1st in the league. Inter on the other hand are struggling at 9th place in the Serie A. They have lost their last two matches in the league and desperately need a win against Barcelona. The Catalan club will be without Ronald Araujo, Hector Bellerin, Jules Kounde, Memphis Depay and Frenkie De Jong. Inter on the other hand will be missing Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic.

Bayern Munich will be hosting Viktoria Plzen to try and win 3 UCL games in a row. Despite their good performance in Europe, Bayern have not been at their best in the Bundesliga as they are currently 3rd on the table. A victory over Plzen will be a big step towards qualification for Bayern Munich. Lucas Hernandez, Kingsley Coman and Bouna Sarr will miss the game due to injury while Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich are also out with Covid. Plzen will be missing Pavel Bucha who is suspended. Sadio Mane is yet to show his true quality in Bavaria and this match will be a good test for him.
