Australia looking to come back in-form at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

(Cricket news) Australia has been one of the most consistent teams in cricket since the start. It has had great players who have won them a record five 50 over World Cups but they are yet to win the T20 World Cup. Their team never had the shortage of talent in batting and bowling, this year there are a few players who can bring them the missing trophy. They were the runner up in 2010 and reached the semifinals in 2007, 2012.

Glen Maxwell

The attacking right hander has been a crucial part of the team especially in T20. Maxwell reverse sweep has been one of his famous hits, he has the power and can take on pace and spin. Maxwell was the leading run scorer for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season with 513 runs in 15 matches. Maxwell has scored over 1780 runs in his T20 career and has taken 31 wickets.

Aaron Finch

Australia's top opener in the format is known to hit the ball with sheer power and strength. He holds the highest score in international T20 when he scored 172 against Zimbabwe. Finch is a matchwinner if he can stay on the crease for a long time and will look to lead the side under his captaincy.

Steve Smith

Smith started his career as a spinner but now is one of the most feared batters. Smith can play a balanced innings as he is very consistent and also can be a bowler although he hasn't bowled much recently. He is also one of the most reliable batsmen as his shot selections are to the point.

Mittchel Starc

One of the fastest bowlers in the world. Starc has a perfect bowling action which produces yorkers and bouncers at the speed of 155km/ hour and over. Starc can provide the breakthrough for the team and will hope to repeat his form from the 50 over world cup. He has taken over 51 wickets in 41 matches in T20 and is one of the most experienced bowlers on the team.

Pat Cummins

Cummins has been the top bowler for the team in the shortest format. His line and length often make it hard for the batter to score as he can also prove himself useful with the bat. Cummins can be an attacking tail ender as he has the ability to score huge maximums in the final overs. He can be the most valuable player for the team along with Marcus Stoinis, the team will be needing the pacers to strike as all the pitches will be bowler friendly.
