(Football news) Atletico Madrid will travel away to Real Betis for a very important clash. With only 1 point separating the two sides on the La Liga table, the winner of the match will enter the top 4. Stefan Savic is suspended for the game while Matheus Cunha, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Daniel Wass and Mario Hermoso are all injured. Atleti have had a week's break since their 2-0 win against Celta Vigo. Betis on the other hand will only have 2 days to prepare for the game as they played Rayo Vallecano in the Copa del Rey Semi Final where Borja Iglesias scored the winner to book a place in the Finals. Betis haven't won any of their last 3 games which will be a concern but a win against the defending champions will solidify their place in the top 4.
Real Madrid will host Real Sociedad to try and keep their 6 point lead at the top of the table. David Alaba and Gareth Bale should be back in the squad while Toni Kroos is ruled out after suffering an injury in training. Real Madrid will have one eye on the PSG clash but they can't afford to slip up in the La Liga otherwise they run the risk of going trophyless for two seasons in a row. Sociedad isn't a team against whom Carlo Ancelotti can rest his players and still win the match. La Real on the other hand only have La Liga to play for after being eliminated from the Europa League. Currently they are 6th on the table just 1 point behind Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. Both Madrid and Sociedad have won their last two games but Los Blancos have had an extra 4 days to prepare for the contest.
Barcelona are back in business after a difficult first half of the season. Xavi's men have not only won their last 3 games but have also scored 4 goals in each of those games. This Barcelona side after the addition of January signings looks to be the favourite to win the Europa League and finish in the top 4 of La Liga. They take on 13th placed Elche on Sunday in search of 3 points. Ansu Fati, Sergi Roberto and Samuel Umtiti are the only absentees while the rest of the players are available for selection. After 3 consecutive wins the Blaugrana can't afford to drop points again as it will make their top 4 task even harder because the La Liga title is long gone. Xavi has a great aspect for next season and a couple of good signings will make Barcelona title challengers once again.
