Ronaldo’s homecoming headlines matchweek 4 of the Premier League

(Football news) The international break is over and the Premier League is set to return this weekend. The 2 North London teams are at the opposite ends of the table before the start of the matchday with Tottenham Hotspur at the top and Arsenal at the bottom.

The table toppers play away at Crystal Palace to follow their win against Watford before the break. Son Heung-min is a doubt for the game after suffering an injury on international duty while Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero are unavailable for selection. New signing from Barcelona Emerson Royal is expected to make his debut. Palace captain Luka Milivojevic is likely to make his first appearance of the season along with new signing Michael Olise. Midfield starlet Eberechi Eze is also fit and available for selection. Patrick Vierra's side opened their account with a draw at West Ham which is a good sign for the Eagles.

Arsenal will host Norwich City which wouldn't have been an important game for the Gunners in normal circumstances, but the pit that Mikel Arteta has dug is not normal for a club like Arsenal. Arsenal have lost their 3 opening games in the Premier League so far. Not only that but the North London club has failed to score a goal in the league. The game becomes a must win for Arteta if he wants to keep his job. Norwich have also lost all 3 games and will be looking to open their account this season and they wouldn't get a better opportunity to win at the Emirates.

The big attraction of the weekend is Cristiano Ronaldo's homecoming at Old Trafford. Ronaldo is likely to make his 2nd Manchester United debut against Newcastle. Newcastle will be without Ryan Frasser while Callum Wilson, Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey remain doubtful. Fred and Miguel Almiron could face a ban after the clubs blocked the players from linking up with national sides for international duty.

Leicester City will be without Wesley Fofana, Nampalys Mendy, James Justin and Ayoze Perez while Jonny Evans could return to the squad along with Jannik Vestergaard, Ricardo Pereira.

Chelsea will play a depleted Aston Villa at home. Romelu Lukaku is doubtful for the game having picked up an injury with Belgium. N'golo Kante and Kai Havertz could also miss the game via injuries. Villa on the other hand will be without key players Ezri Konsa, Emi Buendia and Emi Martinez. Thomas Tuchel will look to continue his unbeaten start to the season after heroics against Liverpool. Villa on the other hand have also had a decent start to the campaign picking up 4 points and a point against the UCL champions will be a statement.

The match between Liverpool and Leeds at Elland Road is likely to be a goal fest. Liverpool will have their front three of Jota Mane and Salah fit and raring to go while Roberto Firmino is unavailable due to injury. Marcelo Beilsa could give Dan James's Leeds debut as the side are yet to win a game this season while Liverpool have picked up 7 points.
