Recap of all the transfers that happened on deadline day in the Premier League

With the transfer window shut and the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Varane ,Lukaku etc have all made unexpected moves, a lot of helter skelter was seen on the last day of the transfer window. Let us take a look at the moves that took place in the Premier league:

1. Emerson Royal (Tottenham Hotspurs)

Tottenham Hotspur have signed 22 year old full back on permanent deal for 30 million pounds on a five year contract in a move that sees his former club Real Betis receive 20% of the fee. Barcelona exercised their buy back option at the beginning of the transfer window but due to the cash crunch, Barcelona had to sell off their new right back.

2. Saul Niguez (Chelsea FC)

Saul moved from Atletico Madrid on loan to Chelsea for an initial loan fee of 5 million pounds with an option to buy him permanently next season. Saul was desperate to move away from Madrid as they had already signed Rodrigo De Paul which meant that his playing time would be less. Chelsea have got a bargain deal as this only makes their midfield better and also enhances their chances to win the Premier League.

3. Alex Kral (West Ham)

West Ham bought the young 23 year old from Spartak Moscow for a season long loan with a view to make the move permanent next season for 13 million pounds. He joins a plethora of Czech Republic players in the squad as he can join his international compatriot Tomas Soucek in the midfield.

4. Nikola Vlasic (West Ham)

West Ham were the heavy spenders on the deadline as they bought the Croatian winger Nikola Vlasic for 26 million pounds from CSKA Moscow. Buying Vlasic helps give West Ham the much needed squad depth they need as they will also be competing in the Europa League also.

5. Takehiro Tomiyasu (Arsenal FC)

Arsenal bought Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna for 18 million pounds on the final day of the window. The 22 year old is a versatile player who can play right back and centre back for his team. The signing of him took Arsenal’s spending to 150 million pounds which is most in the Premier League. Arteta would be hoping some of these young defensive signings do justice to their price tag.

6. Ademola Lookman (Leicester City)

Young English winger joined Leicester City from RB Leipzig on loan with an option to make the move permanent next season. This brought an end to Brendan Rodgers summer long search for a wide attacker. The move for Lookman also saw Dennis Praet leave for Torino.

7. Marc Cucurella (Brighton)

Brighton have signed Marc Cucurella from Getafe after they triggered their release clause of 18million pound. A product of Espanyol youth system the 23 year old can play left back as well as a wing back bringing the much needed left side cover for Graham Potter's side.

8. Salomon Rondon (Everton FC)

He comes back to the Premier League after spending two years away playing in China for Dalian Professional FC. Rondon joins on free transfer for 2 years with an option of extending for one more year. Rafa Benitez reunites with his former striker as they needed some cover for Dominic Calvert Lewin.

9. Santiago Munoz (Newcastle United)

The Magpies have announced the arrival of Santiago Munoz from Santos Laguna in a peculiar case of peculiar sports fiction that bears a striking similarity to the film ‘Goal’. He signs on a 18 month loan deal with a view to make it permanent when his loan deal finishes, he also adds much needed cover in the forward line for Newcastle.

10. Odsonne Edouard (Crystal Palace)

Crystal Palace signed Edouard from Celtic for around 14 million pounds which could rise upto 18,5million pounds with add ons. The 23 year old brings the much needed goal scoring help that Patrick Vieira’s side was lacking, he comes with a very decent pedigree of goals in the Scottish Premiership.

11. Ozan Kabak (Norwich City)

Norwich City signed Ozan Kabak from Schalke on an initial loan with a view to make it permanent for 11.5 million pounds next season. The former Liverpool man comes into the Norwich defence to stop them from leaking goals and help them stay up in the Premier league this season.
