(Archery news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: It was always going to be a tough task for the Indian trio of Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav and Tarundeep Rai to overcome South Korea in the quarter-finals of the men’s archery event, but few predicted such a whitewash.

In a one sided contest at the Yumenoshima Ranking Field, the South Korean team consisting of Kim Je Deok, Kim Woojin, and Oh Jinhyek reached the semifinals by defeating the Indian team 6-0. From the onset of the fixture, the Koreans had the Indian trio on the backfoot as they shot 10-10-9 for a 29. The Indians responded with 8-10-10 but the Koreans took it one step further with 10-10-10 to score 2 points.

Despite a better start by the Indians for the second set with a 9-10-10 and 10-10 but an 8 from Atanu Das with the last arrow gave 2 points to the Koreans who gathered two 59’s in two sets. From then on, the result was predictable as the Koreans scored 56 in the second set and capitalized on the inconsistency of the Indian men’s team.
