India reaches Men’s Archery quarter-finals with win over Kazakhstan

(Archery news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: India’s trio of Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav put up an impressive display to defeat Kazakhstan 6-2 to progress into the quarter-finals where they will face World Champions Korea.

Kazakhstan started strongly with Abdullin Ilfat, Gankin Denis, and Mussayev Sanzhar putting up scores of 10-9-9. India’s response was 9-9-8 but they were given a chance back in the match when Pravin Jadhav and Atanu Das scored 10 to give India two points in the first set.

From then on, India capitalized on their momentum and secured the second set with another two points as Kazakhstan began to falter with scores of 8-8-10. However, Kazakhstan refused to give up without a fight and won the third set after getting some impressive 10s but the Indian trio refused to be complacent and won back the fourth set to reach the quarterfinals.
