The 1st and 2nd placed team in the Premier League now shift the focus to the FA Cup
Manchester City Arsenal

(Football news) FA Cup is back for the 4th round and the tastiest fixture is between Arsenal and Manchester City. Arsenal defeated Oxford United in the last round while Manchester City dismantled Chelsea 4-0. The two teams have been playing some quality football in the league and they will be desperate to win this one. Apart from qualification to the next round, confidence and continuity is very important as the two teams are also in a tight title race in the league. This is where Arsenal’s lack of depth may come into play more with the Europa League knockouts also coming up.

Arsenal are still without Gabriel Jesus who is injured. Reiss Nelson, Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares are the other absentees. Ben White was substituted at half time against Manchester United so his availability remains to be seen. Leandro Trossard is likely to get his first start as an Arsenal player after a bright debut as a substitute against Manchester United. As for Manchester City, Phil Foden has a foot injury and is a major doubt other than that there are no absentees. Pep Guardiola hasn’t been using the likes of Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo recently so it will be interesting to see if he goes back to his trusted full back duo.

Arsenal have played some really good football which no one expected them to do before the start of the season. These two teams are yet to go up against each other this season so it should be an exciting contest. From Manchester City’s point of view they will have to keep hold of Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah who have been in incredible form this season. Going the other way, the battle between Erling Haaland and the strong Arsenal duo of William Saliba and Gabriel will be very interesting to watch.
