Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu are set to sign new long term contracts with Inter

Inter are going to reward Bastoni and Calhanoglu with long term contract for the excellent season they have had this year

(Football news) Inter are expected to give Alessandro Bastoni a new contract which will keep him at the club till 2028, giving him a significant salary hike. For the Nerazzurri it has been a perfect week as they went into third place in the Serie A, reached the Champions League Final and then went on to beat Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia final too. According to rumours in Italy, reaching the Champions League final and winning the Coppa Italia again has all helped convince Bastoni to extend his contract at San Siro.

The former Atalanta defender has been a long term target for the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. However, he is going to sign a new deal worth an €5.5m per season plus bonus which will increase year on year to reach the €6.5m that he is going to earn eventually. It is a crucial time for Bastoni as his contract is valid only till June 2024 and they have already lost Milan Skriniar to PSG as a free agent this summer.

The 24-year-old was bought from Atalanta in 2017 for a massive fee of €31.1m but he was Italy’s next big thing at age 18. That investment proved to be successful as he is not only Italy’s best defender but one of the best young centre backs in the world, his value on the transfer market is now somewhere around €60m. Inter Milan are also set to make the contract extension of Hakan Calhanoglu official after the Champions League final.

According to Italian news Calhanoglu is set to sign a new four-year deal and an official announcement will be made after next month’s clash with Manchester City in Istanbul. It has been reported for some time that Inter board and Calhanoglu are close to agreeing a new long term contract. The former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen star signed a two year deal when he signed from city rivals AC Milan as his current deal runs out at the end of June. However, Inter don’t want him to lose for free and have rewarded him with a long term contract for his outstanding performance this season.
